Uniontown Country Club

Category: Venue Reviews

An easy drive for our wedding musicians from Pittsburgh, this country club is situated in a secluded area with a scenic view.  The staff was very  helpful in making adjustments for the musicians: tables and chairs had to be moved around to fit them in.  It was a very pleasant atmosphere, conducive to classical music being performed.

Le Mont Restaurant

It is a beautiful location with a spectacular view of Pittsburgh, providing a nice setting for a small wedding dinner or anything similar.  The only small negative is parking. You may park on valet only. Our wedding musicians had another job commitment after playing here, and it took them at least ten minutes to get the cars from the valet.

St. Boniface Church, Pittsburgh, PA

On of the most beautiful places I have played yet. It was a solo violin/viola job with the organist, who was the nicest gentleman and a great musician. We were situated in the loft  above, with a perfect view of the wedding ceremony which makes for an easy transition and flow of music during the ceremony.

St. Ferdinand Church, Cranberry, PA

A very convenient location to get to, with plenty of parking and good acoustical qualities for string instruments.  The church is very strict on the wedding music allowed to be played by the hired wedding musicians.

Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA

This hotel provides plenty of different halls and conference rooms for musicians and weddings.  Parking might be tricky at times, especially if several events are going on at the same time at the hotel.  The garage is big but could be full at times. Overall, the staff is attentive, but again, if there are several weddings are going on at the same time – it could be challenging for musicians to get someone’s attention even for such a simple things as getting chairs.

Seven Oaks Country Club – Beaver, PA

This time our musicians played here not for a wedding ceremony but  for a three hour surprise birthday party! It was a very refreshing experience for us, since most of our jobs in the summer are weddings.  The hosts were amazing, absolutely loved our music, made the three hours of playing fly by.. it was fun!

South Park, Pittsburgh, PA (Gazebo)

Category: Venue Reviews

A very beautiful setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies with a pond as a background with plenty of nature around for wedding photos.  By coincidence, a good number of our Pittsburgh musicians live five to ten minutes away from South Park, putting traveling fees at zero for our clients.  The only “negative” is a nest of birds inside the gazebo that were very attentive during the wedding ceremony and accompanied the musicians during the processional music!

Temple David – Pittsburgh, PA

Category: Venue Reviews

Our string trio musicians played here for a jewish wedding ceremony.  As well as our musicians know Pittsburgh and its most popular places for weddings, this Temple was pretty tricky to find.  It is located in Monroeville area on the Northern Pike.  The main sign is somewhat obsured by the vegetation around it, and is not facing the road where it can be seen easily as you drive by.  We spoke to several wedding guests who had the same issue with finding the temple.  As a rule, we try to be at the site of the ceremony at least thirty minutes prior to the start of it, especially if we need to discuss issues with the officiant, bride, etc.  In this case, we could not get in the building until 2:05 and the ceremony’s start was scheduled for 2:30. When the musicians arrrived to the Temple – the doors were locked, and even guests were questioning the locked doors. Some had to sit in their cars with a/c running since it was a pretty hot day.

Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart High School

This place has just moved up on our list of “Pittsburgh jems”. I was in absolute awe of the beauty that I saw in the Chapel of this artistically hidden school in Coraopolis.  The preserved architecture, wood work on the inside, the feel of the histrory back to the 1930’s is incredible! The outdoor surroundings are straight out of utopian perfect world! The people we worked with fit right in with their kindness and appreciation for our music.

Embassy Suites

Once again, police forces and classical musicians come together.  Our Pittsburgh string quartet performed at the Embassy Suites of Pittsburgh for the Allegheny County Police 80th Anniversary Banquet.  It was a big event with many active and retired police officers in attendance, as well as some political figures of our state.

Unlike for weddings, string quartet musicians for this gala put together a music program that somewhat strayed away from classical music, leaning towards a different genre – oldies and pop style music.  The musicians played selections from Beatles, Volare, In a Sentimental Mood, On Top of the World..

As far as the place itself – a hidden paradise in Pittsburgh! Who would have thought of having a fish pond in the lobby of a hotel and surround it with a picturesque jungle, adding quite a bit of magic to the place?!  The staff working with the musicians and the police was amazing, accommodating any need, however small it was. What a fantastic place and a crew of workers!
